During my time serving as City Councilor for District 2, I've been dedicated to making tangible, positive changes in our community. Working together with residents, local organizations, and fellow council members, we've achieved meaningful progress that reflects our shared values and aspirations. Some of our key accomplishments include:
Affordable Housing Advancements: Successfully increased the annual budget allocation for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to $3 million in both FY22 and FY23. Additionally, facilitated the donation of city land within the Las Estrellas property, providing the potential for over 100 affordable housing units.
Supporting Our Workforce: Advocated for and achieved an increase in the minimum wage for city employees to $15.00, ensuring that our city workforce is compensated fairly.
Transparent and Inclusive Elections: Strengthened laws governing the city's election process and Political Action Committees (PACs), promoting transparency and fairness in our local elections.
Trailblazing Urban Mobility: Spearheaded efforts to establish comprehensive regulations for e-Bikes, positioning Santa Fe as a trailblazer in urban mobility solutions.
Empowering Youth: Enhanced youth employment and internship opportunities, providing our young residents with the skills and experience they need to thrive.
Environmental Responsibility: Championed policies promoting energy conservation and responsible environmental practices, ensuring that Santa Fe remains a sustainable and eco-friendly city.
Community Spaces: Successfully renovated and upgraded the youth baseball field at Ragle Park, providing a safe and enjoyable space for our young athletes.
Honoring Our Veterans: Expanded the Hometown Heroes Veterans Banner Program, showing our appreciation for those who have served our nation.
Combating Blight: Strengthened policies addressing neighborhood blight and the issue of abandoned vehicles, contributing to cleaner and more attractive neighborhoods.
